It Starts Here – the campaign for a healthy, active Multnomah County – supports community change to make sure that healthy food, the opportunity for active living, and tobacco free spaces are available to everyone in Multnomah County.

It Starts Here calls attention to extra calories

And to burn the calories from one 24-ounce frozen, caramel coffee drink, you have to walk about five and a half miles. Water project measures success

Student water promotion posterUpstream Public Health and the David Douglas School District joined forces during the 2011 and 2012 school years to increase water consumption by students at David Douglas schools. A new project evaluation report issued last June shows that the pilot project was successful in increasing water consumption for some high school students.
